Cries in the Wind by Judy Bruce is the story of cold criminal cases. Attorney Megan Docket is delving into the information gathered about the murders of two women. These murders happened many many years before, but that does not deter Megan from digging and trying to put the pieces together to solve the murders. This is even true when the case takes a personal turn for Megan.
The book opens with Megan and associates discussing some of the details they do know about the cases. Megan is pregnant and not always feeling at the top of her game. She regularly has to excuse herself - the nausea just won't stay at bay.
The team along with Megan very painstakingly work to set up their room with all the info around them-Megan is also dealing with personal issues that could prove troublesome for her. Sudden interest in some property she owns by some unsavory people is not far from her mind.
Bruce has done a fabulous job with bringing the reader and the characters together. The storytelling is great--the story flows so smoothly the reader will look up and not even imagine the length of time they have been reading. The combination cold case, personal issues and pregnancy all fit very well with Megan-she is warm, tough and witty.
Get ready-this could be a one sitter read-hard to get up and leave this one.
