Adventures of Fairies and Dragons by Nancy Benson tells the story of a Dragon named Hunter and his accidental friendship with a Fairy named Sylvie.

Benson creates her own unique versions of fairies and dragons, portraying how they look and what they do. Her fairies are benevolent creatures who seek peace with the fire-breathing dragons living nearby in the forest. Most of the dragons are also friendly and pose no threat to the fairies. However, just like in our world, some mischievous or downright bad ones always want to cause harm.

In Benson's magical world, Hunter is a young dragon still learning to breathe fire. One day, when he was flying around, he got lost in Fairyland. Fortunately, Sylvie and other fairies found him and cared for him until his father, the King of Dragons, arrived and escorted him back to the castle. However, the fairies and dragons didn't always get along, so the King advised Hunter not to tell his school friends about his adventure. He warned Hunter that some dragons might want to harm the fairies in Fairyland, so it's best not to mention it to any other dragons.

Hunter was a very young dragon who, excitedly, made a slip of the tongue at school. He mentioned that he had befriended a Fairy, which unfortunately caught the attention of a couple of mean-spirited dragons. These dragons started thinking about venturing into the forest to find Fairy Land and destroy it.

Thankfully, the wise and just King of Dragons intervened and pledged to protect the Fairies and their magical land. With the King's promise, the Fairies could continue to live peacefully in their enchanted realm, safe from the destructive intentions of those who would do them harm.

Hunter and his friends are responsible for identifying the bad dragons and assisting the King in protecting the Fairies from harm. Courageously, they set out on a mission to uncover the identities of the adversaries. They must utilize their resourcefulness to gather information and report their findings to the King.

Adventures of Fairies and Dragons is a fantastic book that teaches us to live harmoniously with others with different appearances and customs. It also emphasizes the importance of keeping promises, telling the truth, and showing kindness to one another. It is a great book to put on your child's bookshelf.
