What would you do if your wife shot you? In Greg Siofer's science fiction mystery thriller, “The Question: Nairb’s Stories Book Two,”  the intriguing protagonist, Nairb discovers something extraordinary: he can heal himself. After his beloved wife, Grace, shoots him during a dramatic moment, Nairb astonishingly ejects the bullet and completely closes the wound. During the same time, Grace had cut her arm and Nairb discovers that just by  laying his hands on the cut, it mysteriouly starts to close.  Are these divine powers, spiritual abilities, or something else? This miraculous gift sets the stage for a captivating narrative filled with suspense and intrigue.

This novel is a sequel to the author's previous work, “The Question: Do Some Things Just Happen? (Nairb’S Stories Book 1).” In this new sequel, readers are taken on a mysterious journey filled with suspense and a touch of the supernatural. Siofer’s story begins to unfold in an isolated cabin deep within a dense and shadowy woods, where the author’s meticulous attention to detail creates an immersive and atmospheric setting. The cabin, with its creaking floors and aged walls, adds an eerie quietness, enhancing the sense of isolation and intrigue. In the opening chapter, the author has Nairb desperately searching for his wife Grace, where has she disappeared to? Is she dead?

Nairb narrates his tale, and it soon becomes clear that he possesses clairvoyant abilities, allowing him to foresee events and glimpse into the unknown. The world he inhabits seems to be an alternative dimension, one he can access through mysterious cracks in the wall that appear, leading to realms beyond the ordinary. As Nairb navigates this perplexing reality, he finds himself pursued relentlessly, not only by the police, but also by a more sinister and enigmatic entity. This entity, shrouded in secrecy and danger, is even more perilous than the police, adding a layer of relentless tension and urgency to the unfolding drama. As the narrative progresses, the reader is drawn into a web of intrigue and suspense, eager to uncover the secrets hidden within this enigmatic world.

Nairb possesses intriguing powers, but they seem to be intricately linked to his overall well-being. When he is too exhausted, his abilities weaken, and if he consumes too much alcohol, they falter. This adds a layer of vulnerability to his character that makes his journey even more compelling. Throughout Nairb’s narration, numerous questions arise, keeping readers on the edge of their seats. Why is he pursued so relentlessly by the police? What events in his past have led to this predicament? He introduces other key figures in the story: Dawna, Connie, Jim, Patty, and more.  Each of them plays pivotal roles, contributing unique skills and perspectives that drive the narrative forward and add depth to the unfolding events.

If you enjoy a book that is shrouded in mystery, with a protagonist who confides his secrets directly to you, then you will be captivated by Siofer’s thrilling new sequel. The story promises to unravel Nairb's complexities in unexpected ways, making it a must-read for fans of the genre.
