Author, Emmanuel M. Arriaga, projects life in the far future, thousands of years in the future. "First Elite” is the third volume in the “Foundra Series”. Readers whose imaginations are intrigued by the possibilities of intergalactic warfare and the interactions of human and alien/extraterrestrial beings will become immersed in this science fiction epic novel. Following Neven, a human hybrid that experiences tragedy, grief and searches for vengeance, the reader is introduced to others who intersect his personal life with political intrigue and dangerous missions.

Riveting characters are vividly portrayed having a pallet of skin tones and bodily markings, colorful hair or fur and unbelievable eye shades. Ellipse is an android who communicates mentally with Neven.  She can change her bodily form and has the ability to imitate human like emotions.  The author has created other specialized beings that are a unique interface of human and extraterrestrial cultures, possessing physical and alien bodies and distinctive emotions.  He enhances his vision of outer space culture with invented vocabulary, foreign terms and distinct names. By inserting maps and blueprints in the foreword of the novel, he sets the tone and complexity of his story.

The plot revolves around Neven’s personal struggles with revenge for the  murder of his wife by Entradis, a supreme villain, and his duty to the Founder’s Elite, rulers and peacekeepers of the conquered galaxies.  Neven struggles with human emotions, especially when he crash landed his spaceship on an ice plant with a lovely, flirty team member. Human morals are challenged through out this adventure and several prequel back stories. Time flux battles for survival with galactic super weapons of mass destruction are augmented with high tech medieval swords battles.

Telekinesis, holographic displays, servant drones, complex 3D printing systems that create food from organic raw materials, and droid-channeled thoughts are just a few of the futuristic predictions for the reader to contemplate.  The reader will either welcome the story’s conclusion or anxiously anticipate the sequel.

Arriaga's Foundra Series is very much of an overlooked gem, offering readers a stunning, thought-provoking, and exhilarating glimpse into a potential future filled with groundbreaking possibilities. The series explores fictional advancement that feel both futuristic and oddly within reach. Much of the technology he envisions in his fictional universe seems destined to evolve into reality on our own planet. For instance, the concept of creating food from its fundamental elements is not only imaginative but aligns with current scientific endeavors to address global food security. Similarly, Arriaga delves into revolutionary advancements in computing, artificial intelligence, space exploration, and much more painting a picture of a fictional world transformed by innovation. These themes reflect the rapid pace of change in our own society, where such advancements are not just speculative but actively in development, further blurring the lines between fiction and reality. Arriaga's work invites readers to consider how these innovations could reshape life on Earth, and perhaps, beyond.
