RC Larlham has led a highly varied life. He grew up on a small farm in Northeast Ohio. He did all the things farm kids did in the '50s... baled hay, took care of farm animals, worked for neighboring farmers, and caddied at the local golf course, He graduated high school in 1960 and entered Hiram College to study Biology. He enlisted in the US Army in 1962, spent a thirteen-month tour of duty in the Republic of Korea, another tour as Cadre in the Army's Combat Medic Training Command, and was honorably discharged in 1965. He returned to Hiram College, graduated in 1967, and entered Utah State University's Grad School, married his college sweetheart, and graduated with a Master of Science in Wildlife Management. Mr. Larlham worked as an Environmental Planner for a multi-county planning agency, performing environmental evaluations of major developments, sewer and water projects, and other federally funded projects. When the agency was near-dissolved, he began working for the first of two engineering consulting firms. These firms led to his employment as an Environmental Engineer for DTE Energy (Prev. Detroit Edison) in 1995. His wife of forty-four years died just before Christmas of 2011. , and he retired from DTE Energy in 2015. During that three-and-a-half years he collected, edited and organized about a hundred and ten of his true stories into two books and published the first book on July 14, 2013. The sequel was published on July 23, 2014. Following his retirement, Mr. Larlham remarried; and now lives happily with his beloved second wife and writes stories and poems.
