Sister Season was a strange but workable writing of two completely different story line.
The book opens at Christmas time with all of Elise's daughters coming for a visit. Their first visit together in 10 years. they are arriving for their abusive father's funeral. He is the reason these girls have not been home or together for years.
The author dealt with both Christmas and dysfunction in the family in a very forthright way. I saw that no matter the situation Christmas traditions are hard to put aside. At the same time, those traditions had been so warped for Elise and her daughters.
Each of these women - a product of Robert's abuse - had been marred and rendered almost incapable of obtaining and keeping their families together.
There were times in the book that I prodded along, but other times I couldn't put it down-wanting to see where it was all leading to.
Sister Season brought to light the lives and results of what abuse and dysfunction does to families. I believe there is a definite audience for this book-those abused could see the light and change the chain-break free and live your own patterns for family, not the patterns of your abusive family members.
Good Real !!

Jennifer Scott has been reading, writing, and loving books for pretty much as long as she can remember. In 2000, Jennifer decided to try to become a published author, and began writing women's fiction novels. But the road to writing success is never quick, easy, or predictable, and Jennifer's official writing career began in 2009 with her debut young adult novel, Hate List, written under the name Jennifer Brown. Jennifer now has four published young adult novels under the Jennifer Brown name. She never gave up on the women's fiction genre, however, and is thrilled to introduce The Sister Season as her debut women's fiction.
