Sometimes When I'm Mad by Deborah Serani, Psy.D is a beautifully illustrated anger management kid's book. If you are constantly telling your child not to shout or kick things when they are angry, then this book could be a lot of help for you and your child.  The illustration by Kyra Teis mesh perfectly with Serani's words and succinctly captures the emotions of a child who is experiencing a temper tantrum. The illustrations are very expressive and superbly well done. Serani's words bolstered by the excellent illustrations will help toddlers understand their scary feelings and give them simple ways to cope with them.

Sometimes When I'm Mad is one child's book parents can buy that is appealing, entertaining, and delivers a positive social message.  It is written to help children recognize and cope with their anger in productive ways.  With the current issues of society's struggle with disillusion and anger, this adorable children's book can help put things back into perspective for parent and child.

A section of Sometimes When I'm Mad is written with parents in mind. When children are angry, they can manifest their anger through bad behavior. They might shout, cry, throw things, and roll on the floor or all of these things combined. That's why most parents need help managing their kids' emotions and feelings. Serani's book provides many tips on how to handle a child's anger issues.  It offers a variety of calming techniques aimed to improve kids' self-regulation skills.  Even if you have tried everything, this book is perfect for gaining a deeper understanding of children's anger management and how to help kids control their emotions. We highly recommend it to parents.

Everyone gets angry, so it's never too early for children to learn to recognize feelings of anger, express them, and build skills for coping with anger in helpful, appropriate ways. Children learn that it is okay to feel angry—but not okay to destroy things or hurt anyone with actions or words. Reassuring and supportive, Sometimes When I'm Mad helps preschool and primary-age children see that when they cool down and work through anger, they can feel peaceful again.
