Farial English

Farial lives in a small rural community with her husband and two dogs. Several years ago, they moved from their home in a Chicago suburb to an old farm in upstate New York. Surrounded by woods and fallow fields, their dogs run free, and Farial spends most of her time outdoors, planting and tending flowers, growing vegetables, and caring for colonies of honeybees. An avid reader throughout her life, Farial shared hundreds of books with her three sons as they grew up. During their scouting years, books inspired projects and activities that nurtured her sons' creativity and encouraged them to explore the natural world. One of our favorite family projects was making kites to fly at a Kite Derby event in the spring. This memory was the seed that grew into Farial's latest book, The Boy Who Wanted to Fly. Farial is the bestselling author of Charlie and Sophie's Great Escape, an award-winning book about the adventures of her Border Collie puppies.
