Book Review of :  Low Growth

low-growth.jpg Christian Thompson's book of poems covers a very wide spectrum of subject matter--love, loss, humanity, etc. When reading his poems you will feel, ponder, comtemplate and marvel. The insight at times feels bright and liberating-Thompson puts words to feelings, moods and attitudes. Thompson is insightful of life and living and what it really means. After reading his works you are enlightened to feelings you have--Thompson's poems puts into words your inner self. Man On a Bench He pretended to be homeless sitting in a train station below the street on a bench pausing now & then to enter brief nap-like meditations coming out each time more forgetful than before of who he was, where he was from, if he were married, had kids-- the people in the station all walked toward somewhere while the man on the bench had no place to go-- his forgetfulness prevented him from feeling lonely yet his sense of having been someone else remained enough to set him free. When you read it, you will get it. A book you will keep and read time and time again
